Our esteemed fiddler Ciaran Tourish likes to get his fingers loose before these Pyros get togethers in Buncrana and so he is heading out on the road with his other band, Altan.

After a couple of shows in France the band are heading back to America for about a month taking in the entire country and for the first time Hawaii. The band will also be visiting some of their other favourite venues in America including the amazing Brownfield in Maine and The Cedar in Minneapolis which has become a home from home for them.

I will be meeting up with Altan in February in Georgia when they play the lovely old gold mining town of Dahlonega. There are no plans for me to join the band for a 23 minute bass solo. In fact nobody will return my calls since I first mentioned it.
