April 10th, 2004 Issue 21 I have to mention one thing that has nothing to do with the music we know and love here at JigTime. I went to see Aerosmith last night and now I can't hear a thing. So many of the albums I review for next week's issue may sound a little fuzzy. Having said that they are still an amazing band although it really was the most noise I have ever heard in my life. Now don't panic all ye fans of the good acoustic music of the world. I have always been a fan of rock music but my first love is traditional music and JigTime will always stay well below the safe level of decibels for my readers. Unhappy with your JigTime newsletter? Lucky for me the music was so good it gave me new life. On Saturday alone I heard Bela Fleck, Vassar Clements, Guy Clark, Peter Rowan, Del McCoury and many more. It was a sunny day and warm night in Florida and musical magic was certainly in the air. In fact Christy's new box set of 6 CDs features a listed 101 tracks but sources tell me that there are some extra hidden goodies on there as well. He has been a sought after session musician in Nashville for many years but it is as a performer that he shines. This new albums features the band he has been touring with for the last couple of years as well as some other great hand picked musicians.
