Dr A's Secret RemediesThat week went by fast for me, I've hardly had time to draw breath between shows. But I am back with another show filled with great music. I recorded the show from my bed this week with one eye on the recording system and one on the television as the final presidential debate was due to begin. The past few weeks have raised the game for the two candiates with the economy going a litle crazy.  But it has been the most important election in recent history for more reasons than just the recent economic problems. So to my American friends I say "VOTE Please Vote"

Music on the show this week from 3 different members of the Pyros including Kevin Doherty, Paul Rodden and former Pyro Rory McLeod (oh and myself playing bass on Rory's track) Also some great music from this side of the pond from Nickel Creek, Peter Rowan and more.  We are also just a week away from Magnoliafest in Florida and I talk a little about that on the show today. So tune in and enjoy.

On this week's show you heard

1. Mother of Mercy - Four Men and a Dog - Dr A's Secret Remedies

2. Pink Moon - Nick Drake - Pink Moon

3. When you Come Back Down - Nickel Creek - Nickel Creek

4. The Ballygar Jigs - Mick MacAuley and Winnifred Horan - Serenade

5. Outlaw Love - Peter Rowan - Peter Rowan

6. Leave it to Loser - Robbie Fulks - Georgia Hard

7. The Rocks of Bawn - Arcady - Celtic Twilight

8. Shawn Mullins - Shimmer

9. Misty - Ray Stevens

10. Walking the Dog - Mister Midnight - Slumber

11. Back to Donegal - Rory McLeod - Travelling Home

12. Above the Line - Ron Block - Doorway

She is about to head out on tour with Richard Thompson and I will get you dates for that as soon as I have them.  In the meantime enjoy the show and please keep sending your emails and comments and of course vote for your favorite song on the poll.

John CutliffeWow, it was touch and go getting the show to you this week. I had it all recorded on Wednesday but even while I was recording I didnt have internet access to upload to file. But thanks to a very cool man named Frank who works for Comcast, which is the American company who provides my house with my favourite TV shows and my internet access, you are listening to the show. Yesterday some very smart person working on the landscaping of the house next door cut through the very cable which provides me with those modern luzuries. So those of you who like my show have Frank to thank for me being on the air and those who dont like the show wouldnt have noticed if I had called it in and sang Danny Boy badly for the entire hour. So thanks Frank. Let's hope I don't need to bug you again for a long time.
